This week eats for What I Ate Wednesday are from Matt's birthday on Monday. I noshed & snacked all healthy-like during the day so we could indulge in some serious birthday treats that evening :)
Here are the goods:
Snack #1: one super ripe Georgia peach
Snack #2: a small handful of roasted & salted pistachios
Lunch: a flour burrito wrap with homemade garlic pesto hummus, quinoa tabouli, chicken & baby spinach
Dinner: a couple slices of Jet's 8-Corner Ham + Onion Pizza with a Bell's Two Hearted Ale to wash it all down (all Matt's favorite things!)
When planning my snacks I tend to shop for things that are either the cheapest or will last the longest. I always flip through my local ad before heading to the grocery store to find out what produce is on sale and lately I've been really digging on pistachios and nut mixes just because they keep so well and are so gosh darned delicious! The peach in the above photo was a gift from Matt's mom (free is always best!).
What staple snack item(s) do you always put on your shopping list? bananas & carrots!
