Yesterday, I made the decision to register to run my first marathon this year in Nashville! I ran the Hard Rock 1/2 Marathon last fall and when they added a Marathon to the mix this year I couldn't help but jump at the opportunity.
Why not? :)
The When & Where.
The Marathon is on Saturday, November 9th and the route spans across Downtown, Music Row, Belmont and East Nashville.
Prior to registering, I mapped out a 4-month training schedule based on Hal Higdon's Novice 1 plan. Weekday runs will be 3-5 miles and I'll do my long weekend runs on Saturday mornings. My training starts in one week! Hal's plan also involves running a 1/2 Marathon halfway through the training, and while I haven't made a firm decision yet, I'll most likely be participating in the Indianapolis Women's Half Marathon at the end of August.
I hate to say it, but lately my passion for running has kind of fizzled. In the past, looking forward to half marathons has always made me much more engaged on runs and I hope that this difficult task on the horizon will do the same :)
Something else that's Marvelous...
It's July! That means the Bad Ass Beautiful June Challenge that Sabrina at Lit Laugh Love and I created is over, and I couldn't be happier with how the month went! We had so much fun in June that I know there will be future #InsideandOut challenges to be made, so stay tuned for that.
